Welcome to KONOBA POPRET where tradition meets culinary in Dubrovnik. As a family-owned local food restaurant, we take pride in sharing the rich culinary heritage of Croatia and Dubrovnik with our guests.

Fantastic Experience


We loved our entire experience at this restaurant, from the friendly welcome, to the homemade grappa with freshly picked figs right off of the property to the lovely ambiance.

Great traditional food


This is a lovely restaurant - only 10 mins away from Dubrovnik up in the mountains, but it might as well be in a different world. A stunning view down to the sea (in our case complete with rainbow after a short but impressive thunderstorm) - but the real star is the food.

Great food and fantastic view. Our waiter Martin was amazing. He was super attentive and helpful, explained all the dishes and cooking. Thanks very much for the wonderful dinner.

What is Peka?

Peka is a traditional Croatian cooking method that dates back centuries. Originating from the Dalmatian region, Peka involves slow-cooking meat, vegetables, and herbs in a covered pot or tray, over an open fire. This slow, gentle cooking process allows the flavors to meld together, resulting in tender, succulent dishes bursting with rich, aromatic flavors.
